Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery, or BRAG for short is a spacious touch of culture in Bundy. The charming gallery features exhibitions, displays and installations from around the country and always features a through provoking array. Originally an old bank, then a library, the building has evolved and morphed into the contemporary art space is its today.
It’s free! There’s three viewing spaces to check out. Gallery One houses larger exhibitions and provides an enormous expanse to enjoy exhibitions. Gallery Two is located upstairs and houses the smaller exhibitions. The Vault is a small art space used primarily for installations.
Exhibitions and displays usually run for six weeks on average. They include a mix of travelling exhibitions, photography from some of the most contemporary global artists, powerful cultural indigenous displays and there’s always something fascinating from an emerging artists. Local artists get a chance to display their talents.
There’s also a fantastic Kids room to keep the little ones entertained.
The Gallery also hosts what is known as the Collection - a number of artworks by past and present artists that has been acquired by submission over the years. The Collection is extensive and staff are knowledgeable and passionate about the works on display.
